Job Title: Plant Operations Engineer

Job Summary: JLL Technologies is seeking a skilled and experienced Plant Operations Engineer to join our dynamic team in the United Kingdom. As the Plant Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the operations of all plant and equipment within our commercial properties portfolio. Your primary goal will be to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, while adhering to industry regulations and best practices. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for driving operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee the daily operations of all plant and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
2. Coordinate with property managers and tenants to identify and meet their MEP requirements efficiently.
3. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs, schedules, and processes to minimize equipment downtime and maximize lifespan.
4. Perform regular site visits to inspect the MEP systems, identifying any faults or potential issues and ensuring timely resolution.
5. Manage a team of skilled technicians and contractors, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
6. Prepare and manage the departmental budget effectively, ensuring cost control and adherence to financial constraints.
7. Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source quality materials and equipment while negotiating favorable contracts and service agreements.
8. Develop and maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities and stay up to date with relevant industry codes, regulations, and standards.
9. Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends, identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiencies and sustainability initiatives.
10. Prepare reports and presentations on performance metrics, planned maintenance activities, and ongoing projects for senior management.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in engineering, facilities management, or a related field. Relevant certifications and licenses are a plus.
2. Proven experience in plant operations, preferably within the commercial real estate industry.
3. Strong technical knowledge of MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and building automation systems.
4. Solid understanding of health and safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and industry best practices.
5. Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a high-performing team.
6. Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make data-driven decisions.
7. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
8. Proven project management expertise, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet stringent deadlines.
9. Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software applications.
10. Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to different sites as required.
