Summary of role

The day-to-day position will be to manage all commissioning aspects and training requirements in conjunction with the Design/Project Managers to ensure safe delivery of projects on time.

You will be required to work both independently and as part of the wider Sprinkler Department. At times when there are no commissioning requirements you will assist the Project Team undertaking Progress Reports on current installations which hopefully will assist you later when they require commissioning.

What you will be doing

  • Preparation of Commissioning Manual/Training Manual with Design/Project Managers including RAMS for site-based activities.
  • Pre-Commissioning sprinkler systems.
  • Commissioning sprinkler systems in line with Commissioning Manual.
  • Demonstration/Training of sprinkler systems with end Client so there competent to undertake weekly tests.
  • Handover/Sign off Project to end Client.
  • Updating existing Progress Reports in conjunction with the Project Manager, so client is aware of on-site activities.
  • Inspect on-site labour ensuring they are working in the areas as required by our contract and their order.
  • Actively identify early work areas to better the programme.
  • Provide Project Manager/Engineer with regular updates including potential contract charges, snagging, programme slippage, labour resource or material issues, access issues, potential on-site conflicts.

What we will need from you

  • Working knowledge of BS EN 12845, BS9251:2021 & LPS1048 Schemes.
  • Working knowledge of engineering drawings.
  • LPCB Testing & Commissioning Module 2 Competent.
  • LPCB Site Inspection Module 1 Competent
  • Valid SMSTS
  • CSCS Blue Card Holder
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good client relation skills
  • Basic fire alarm and electrical understanding
  • IT literacy skills
  • Be able to diagnose problems on all types of sprinkler systems and resolve professionally.
