Stores Person

Job Objectives

  • To undertake works in connection with the issuing of store’s material and the maintenance of stock, to include purchase orders and receiving goods.
  • To carry out deliveries and collection of materials to and from sites and suppliers.

Main Duties

  • Maintain a clean, safe environment in line with 5`S standards
  • Creation of purchase orders and recording goods inwards / outwards using Company bespoke software
  • Ensure checks to verify stock levels for re-ordering are accurate and appropriate.
  • To take delivery of goods delivered into stores.
  • Ensure that goods are checked off in an accurate and timely manner and check for damages and quantity. Update computer system to enable accurate stock levels.
  • Put materials away in stores after deliveries in a FIFO order.
  • To get materials out ready for collection by staff and for the issuing to jobs, using the IT equipment provided.
  • To ensure stock checks when required are completed once a month
  • Keep stores clean and tidy.
  • Keep log of scrap returns from properties
  • Manage the waste from stores on site, ensuring that materials are correctly disposed of in the appropriate manner to maximise recycling possibilities.
  • Manage quarantine material returned from wor
  • Manage warranty of issued rotatable
  • To unlock / lock up the yard and stores as required.
  • Flexible approach to work as and when required.
  • To promote equal opportunities and diversity in service delivery.
  • To foster constructive and collaborative working relationships with stakeholders and partner organisations.
  • To participate in the continuous improvement of service delivery ensuring that policies and procedure’s comply with legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • To respect the need for confidentiality, when processing personal/customer data. Other such duties as may be required from time to time.

Person Specification

Knowledge and experience:

  • Experience of working in a similar role, involving work in stores, driving and yard responsibilities for a minimum of two years, or equivalent experience.
  • A knowledge of good practice relating to Health and Safety Regulations and Road Traffic Regulations.
  • Knowledge of Waste Recycling

Skills (Essential):

  • Great communication skills
  • A good knowledge and recognition of electrical, mechanical and building materials.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Knowledge of Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) for the use in managing and booking in & out stock.
  • Computer literate – Microsoft Outlook, Ecxel, Word, Teams
  • Good listener and team player
  • Methodical and organised and able to work on own initiative

Special Circumstances

  • Out of hours working may be required to cover the needs of the business in certain situations.
