We are currently recruiting for an highly skilled and technical Mechanical Shift Engineers to join one of our static sites based in London Bridge. The site you will be working on is for a globally recognized client on one of their flagship UK sites . It's a very client-facing environment and you will be responsible for ensuring the company delivers its contractual obligations on time whilst maintaining all electrical, mechanical and site-based equipment. The successful candidate will be required to work on site on a continental shift pattern, 12 hour shifts and will be part of a 3 man shift team as well as a Site Supervisor.

Job Description

  1. Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, servicing, and repairs of mechanical systems and equipment such as HVAC systems, pumps, motors, and other mechanical assets.
  2. Conduct planned preventative maintenance to ensure the ongoing reliability and efficiency of mechanical systems.
  3. Respond promptly and effectively to mechanical faults, breakdowns, and emergency situations, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  4. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using appropriate tools and techniques, and determine the most effective course of action for repair.
  5. Coordinate and liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure the timely resolution of mechanical issues and maintenance requirements.
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, equipment data, and any necessary documentation.
  7. Adhere to health and safety guidelines and regulations at all times, ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and those around you.
  8. Stay informed about industry trends, advances in mechanical technology, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to enhance maintenance processes and procedures.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer or similar role, ideally within a facilities management or property services environment.
  2. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery, including HVAC systems, pumps, motors, and associated controls.
  3. Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults, and conducting planned preventative maintenance.
  4. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work swiftly under pressure to resolve issues.
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and subcontractors.
  6. Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  7. Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  8. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.
  9. Flexibility to work on shifts and participate in an on-call rota.
