JOB TITLE: FACILITIES MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN

REPORTS INTO: FACILITIES LEAD TECHNICIAN

ABOUT THE ROLE:

A multi-disciplinary role supporting the facilities management within London Client sites.

To effectively deliver the day to day maintenance and operation of the plant within a multi skilled engineering team in accordance with best practice and JLL standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Read blueprints/instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary
  • In liaison with the Facilities Lead Technician for the site to ensure the site is operated in accordance with local legislation.
  • To adhere to the Maintenance Management system in all engineering practices, including planned and reactive tasks, to meet and exceed the expectations of GMP, and agreed service level agreements.
  • Undertake small installation works, repairs to electrical installations and mechanical plant and equipment quality arrangements.
  • Carry out all works in an appropriately health and safety conscious manner following material safety instructions and using, permits to work, risk assessments, method statements where appropriate to do this.
  • Accountable for ensuring that planned maintenance activities are carried out, in compliance with the tasks as set out and Site SOPs, processes, and any adopted procedures.
  • Maintenance of plant and utilities to ensure appropriate and correct operation, to efficiently and reliably operate within specification while ensuring that records are maintained as required by Operational, Regulatory and Statutory practice.
  • Ensure maximum availability of plant and user equipment through efficient planned maintenance and prompt response to faults.
  • Provide technical support for projects and assist with commissioning and handover works for plant and user equipment.
  • Ensure that all work orders are completed and issued and closed down in full compliance and the Equipment Maintenance System.
  • When required to raise and issue a Change Control Notification.
  • Initiate and receive Permits to Work in accordance with procedure. Be familiar with Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
  • Where necessary ensure correct control using and monitoring/ interrogation of the BEMS including incorporate energy efficiency control strategies.
  • Mark up drawings and documentation to show changes and issue to line manager.
  • Where instructed by your line manager install new equipment.
  • Work with an innovation approach and initiate a review, amend and reschedule PM Worksheets (Planned Maintenance) where you feel better practices or efficiencies can be made.
  • Collaborate in cross training back up, with others, directed by your line manager.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
  • To wear personal protective equipment when conditions require or when required to do so by the relevant risk assessment, method statement or mandatory signage
  • Where required to provide regular reports (daily, weekly, and monthly as required) to your line manager regarding all engineering team activity.
  • Able to communicate in English on a certain level to operate systems and prepare reports.
  • Able to manage and give instructions to sub-contractors under line manager control.

WORKING LIFE:

  • On a daily basis you will be working across a large office site
  • The main business language spoken in our offices is English. Knowledge of English is essential
  • The role will be structured on a shift basis over a 5-day week, 40 hours per week
  • On occasion you may be required to work weekends, late shifts or bank holidays, this will be arranged in advance and in accordance with the rota
  • On occasion you will be required to be on call 24 hours a day in rotation with your colleagues
  • On occasion you will be required to attend emergency call outs to ensure business continuity
  • You may be required to work within another site on the contract within the same
